SPACE 2023: High-level participation and high-quality content

0

SPACE 2023 is preparing in a context of rising energy costs, of generational renewal, of unprecedented high prices for agricultural products, and of climate change.

In such a shifting environment and in the face of the structural changes within our agricultural sector, SPACE is becoming an ever more essential event for all professionals to gather information, exchange ideas and find new synergies to continue to develop and adapt animal farming in the regions of Western France.

The international context is also evolving significantly. The war in Ukraine has had a strong impact on the agricultural policies of countries that are dependent on Ukrainian and Russian supplies. The question of food sovereignty has become crucial for many countries, and particularly for developing countries. Our companies and organisations are well equipped to position themselves on these markets.

The international scope of SPACE, which welcomes more than 120 countries every year here in Rennes, is a clear demonstration of our ability to offer solutions to this global food challenge. Many delegations from all over the world are expected to attend again this year, in particular from Europe, the Middle East and of course Western and Central Africa.

A RANGE OF EXHIBITORS
The number of exhibitors registered at SPACE is always very high. On 16 May, almost 1,100 exhibitors from 36 countries, including 177 new ones (76 of which are international companies) were expected to attend the Exhibition.

Brazil Ag machinery maker Stara unveils new planter-Estrela

Brazil Ag machinery maker Stara unveils new planter-Estrela

Brazil agriculture machinery manufacturer Stara has unveiled a new planter which CEO  Átila Stapelbroek Trennepohl, says will  revolutionize planting in Brazil and beyond.

Named Estrela, the machine is the most comprehensive planter on the market. It is equipped with the Stara Integrated Terrain Copy System (it means the terrain copy is controlled on Topper), an easy and fast transport process, and in-furrow spraying directly from the factory, which by way, doesn’t need to be adapted to your equipment.

It is the only one with two fertilizer sections on the market. The planter has only seven lubrication points. For this reason, lubrication is not required during planting operations (there are no grease fittings).

Also, the piece of equipment provides you with a complete set of solutions and technologies to deliver higher yields to the crop field.

In addition, it is equipped with the DPS-E (Stara Precise Seed Placement – Electric) that ensures the best singulation of seeds on the market with seed compensation on turns.

Check out more information about our newest product:

STARA INTEGRATED TERRAIN COPY SYSTEM

It is an innovative concept from Stara. The system performs the triple terrain copy by providing the best plantability of the category. There is triple terrain copy with three articulation points.

Articulation of the chassis by pneumatic springs

The planter features a chassis with three modules: a central e two side ones with pneumatic springs that transfer the central module weight to the side modules. As a result, the cutting power of the planter is the same along the planter structure, and there is planting uniformity from end to end. The modules add 24° of articulation: 12º upwards and 12º downwards.

Matched row unit (row unit plus the chassis)

It is a new row unit from Stara that matches the individual articulation of the row unit (A) to the articulation of module (B). The system is an innovative feature from Stara to guarantee the best terrain copy.

Hydraulic control of the seed row unit pressure

It makes sure there is constant pressure in the seed row units. As a consequence, there are few trepidations, more stability, and seed placement is carried out with uniformity. The pressure adjustment of the matched row unit and the hydraulic control of the seed row unit pressure is on Topper.

THE BEST SEED DISTRIBUTION

Estrela features the new Stara seed meter that can provide you with a higher precise distribution. The DPS-E stands out because it is easy for cleaning and maintenance purposes, just as its interior access for seed disk and ejector changing. The system also features seven seed ejecting points and the well-known variable rate system.

All technology integrated into the DPS-E delivers the best seed singulation on the market. In addition to all the features mentioned above, it adds the seed rate compensation on turns. The advantage is that the seed population and the internal and external row unit spacing are the same, resulting in high distribution quality, regardless of the turn angle. Precision of 3.5 seed/meter.

STARA IN-FURROW SPRAYING

Estrela is equipped with the in-furrow spraying factory-installed. NO NEED FOR ADAPTATIONS. The spraying tank features three layers. The central thermal layer is isolated by two other layers built in polyethylene. Therefore, the thermal efficiency of the hopper is provided during its lifespan.

As a result, there is higher protection against the heat and brightness, and at the same time, it ensures the biological activity of the products and the cleaning process becomes easier.

It also adds an automatic adjustment of the rate according to the equipment speed, resulting in quality and uniform spraying. Not to mention the mixing system. This feature keeps the solution constantly moving in the tank.

The automatic shut-off is applied along the three sections, with a module, to integrate the nozzle bracket to the row unit, the anti-drip system integrated, and protection against impacts.

THE MOST PRACTICAL TRANSPORT SYSTEM ON THE MARKET

Estrela is really fast to be folded. Its sections are folded in less than one minute. The transport width of Estrela is 3.20 m when the chassis is 21-25 and 4.15 m when the chassis is 27-33. Additionally, the transport becomes easier among fields and farms.

Estrela has got every comfort and convenience Stara can provide you with. They add optimum potential planting needs by the best planter on the market.

One of the special features is ConectaTelemetria Stara, the Stara monitoring system, and a technology package that deliver easier operations and higher yields, Topper 5500, The planter also comprises the Control System, the Row-by-Row Shut-Off System, the Zero Crop Damage, and Syncro.

Hexagon Agriculture launches app and exhibits technologies for manufacturers and producers in Agrishow 2023

Hexagon’s Agriculture division, a reference in the development of a digital solution for the agricultural industry, will launch a new solution aimed at production management in Agrishow 2023.

The trade show, considered the greatest agribusiness fair in Latin America, took place from May 1 to May 5, in Ribeirão Preto/SP. One of the company’s highlights in the event was the new HxGN AgrOn Control Room | Mobile.  The app is a module of HxGN AgrOn Control Room, which is a real-time monitoring software for everything that happens in the cultivation.

The solution has emerged from a demand from managers and directors of agricultural companies, who needed more agility to follow up the operations and solve potential problems that could arise. The app has functions, as personalised notifications, which allow the manager to set up the receipt of new notices when, for instance, some incident occurs in the field.  “The production occurs 24 hours a day.

The manager may be at home, for instance, and, if necessary, check and monitor an area with a critical problem, even if he/she is out of the workplace. Mobility comes in the sense of facilitating the access to the product, since nowadays the mobile phone is practically an extension of our body, as we take it everywhere and do everything with it”, explains Alexandre Alencar, Research and Development Director of Hexagon’s Agriculture division.

Another technology that was highlighted during the fair is HxGN AgrOn ECU ISOBUS, which builds an interface with sensors and actuators in agricultural supplies. The differentiator of the solution is the communication in ISOBUS standards, allowing compatibility with devices of different brands and models.

“The eased customisation and integration of the product is a paramount point for manufacturers, who must adapt to characteristics of several implements and displays, which is one of the greatest challenges of agricultural automation these days”, explains Bernardo de Castro, president of Hexagon’s Agriculture division.

Technology for sugar cane handling
Hexagon also taok to the fair a solution aimed at monitoring the application of vinasse per aspersion, for sugar cane handling. Some time ago, vinasse has become one of the most important fertilisers for the crop, but there was no automated application for managers to have more visibility of the information, managing to correct possible discrepancies in a timely manner.

According to Rafael Borelli, Soluition Commercial Manager in the company, Hexagon saw an opportunity using HxGN AgrOn Machine Monitoring to implement this solution. “We authorised this equipment to make available information for managers and cater for this demand, which tends to grow up even more”, he explains.

The Hexagon also exhibited other solutions, such as technologies for precision agriculture that can be embedded into agricultural machines, allowing the application of inputs at a variable rate and section cutting.

Visitors to the Hexagon booth also had an opportunity to see the different generations of displays: Ti5, Ti7 and Ti10. The most recent version, the HxGN AgrOn Ti10, has a 10.1-inch high definition (HD) screen, high-performance processors and allows working with ISOBUS, the universal protocol for standardising agricultural communication.

While the Ti10 has a high processing capacity to meet the needs of large companies, the Ti5 is an entry-level equipment, considering its ease of use, applicability in various agricultural operations and affordable investment.

Business opportunity
Agrishow is an opportunity for companies to reach out to customers, partners, and prospects. Last year, the event has moved BRL 11.2 billion in business, and it has received 193 thousand visitors.

To Bernardo, the fair is a great technology meeting. “Agrishow has this potential. In a short period, we can present our product to hundreds of people that visit our stand, in addition to meeting customers and business partners. It is where all the industry is established, and it becomes a highly meaningful week.”
